The AEC (r)Evolution: Rethinking Our Workforce for BIPOC Success
The AEC (r)Evolution is a call to action for innovative approaches to train, recruit and retain more Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), as well as women, LGBTQ+, and non-binary talent into the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professions and trades.
We must work together to lift up our communities and provide pathways to economic mobility for youth, and for adults desiring to improve their lives through building a better world.
A generational shift-change is occurring, and the next few decades will determine our future course in unimaginable ways. We choose the path that prioritizes racial and environmental justice as a fundamental value for all of our planning, design, and construction decision making.
The inflection point opportunity is to embrace cultural competency and progress toward equity and inclusion with the same fervor with which we embrace the challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration within high stakes negotiations in planning, design, and construction projects.
